The Nagarkot is the nearest and easily accessible Sunrise view from Kathmandu. It is situated to the east of Kathmandu and is the second highest peak in the valley which is located 2,195 meter above the ground. The Nagarkot is one of the most popular hill stations for its spectacular sunrise view of the Himalaya when the weather is clear. It even provides great views of Everest and the Indrawati river valley to the east. In summer season, the sun rises between 5:00 AM to 5:40 AM whereas in winter season, it delays to around 6:30 AM to 7:00 AM. This valley is surrounded by eight different Himalayan mountains namely, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Mahalangur and Numbur. Due to the spectacular views of snowcapped hills and its magnificent location, Nagarkot has emerged as the most popular destination for couples and families to visit.
